The Batten College of Engineering and Technology will celebrate Engineers Week 2022 with in-person events and activities related to this year's national theme: Reimagining the Possible.
Engineers Week (EWeek) was founded by the in 1951. The event, organized nationally by is "dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers."
"桃花社区视频 Engineers Week is an invitation to celebrate the positive impact that the engineering profession has had and will continue to have on society," said Rafael Landaeta, associate professor and associate dean in the Batten College of Engineering and Technology. "Middle and high school students, teachers/counselors, as well as 桃花社区视频 students, and other university constituencies are invited to participate in our "Rediscover the Possibilities" EWeek events.
At 桃花社区视频 Dominion University, the week-long celebration includes a pop-up advising event, discussion panels about the different engineering departments and lab tours for area high school students.
On Tuesday, guest lecturer, Sharon Monica Jones, deputy director for the within the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, will give a presentation related to the theme: Reimagining the Possible - What Engineers Do.
The presentation, open to the public, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22 in the Engineering & Computational Sciences Building (ECSB) auditorium from 12:20 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.
